PDF to EPUB conversion

EPUB is a reflowable format specifically designed for e-books developed by the International Digital Publishing Forum (IDPF). See www.idpf.org. EPUB is widely accepted as the common e-book format and supported by practically all eReading devices with or without DRM.

Due to the reflowable nature of EPUB it is inevitable that differences will occur from the strict lay out from the PDF. The main consumer value of EPUB is that it reflows and that the e-book or e-paper can be read on practically every device and screen size.

Additional benefits of EPUB are:

  • Most reading software will allow easy navigation within the e-book.
    For example: Search for words, go to page, hyperlinks between chapters, etc.

  • Hyperlinks from TOC to chapters
  • Websites are hyperlinked
  • A metadata file is supplied with the converted book
  • Most tables, graphs, schedules will be shown as a picture.
  • Footnotes are not supported.
  • The repetition of chapter titles on each individual page will be deleted
  • Some reading software shows the PDF page number on each page.

    PDF to Interactive PDF (IPDF) conversion

    PDF offers the benefit of a fixed lay out and can be optimized for a certain screen size whilst offering the same navigational benefits as EPUB and Kindle. All computers and practically all reading devices support IPDF
